Who We Are
The North Alabama Healthcare Coalition (NAHCC) is a regional partnership of healthcare and public safety organizations working together to strengthen emergency preparedness and response across North Alabama. The coalition brings together hospitals, emergency medical services (EMS), public health agencies, emergency management, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare partners to coordinate planning, training, and response efforts for a wide range of emergencies.
Through collaboration and resource sharing, the coalition works to ensure that healthcare systems remain operational and capable of providing care during disasters such as severe weather, public health emergencies, mass casualty incidents, and other large-scale events. Members participate in joint planning initiatives, training programs, exercises, and information sharing designed to improve readiness and strengthen coordination across the region.
The North Alabama Healthcare Coalition plays a critical role in supporting healthcare facilities before, during, and after emergencies by enhancing communication, promoting best practices, and helping partners access resources needed to protect patients, staff, and communities. Through strong partnerships and a shared commitment to preparedness, the coalition helps ensure North Alabama’s healthcare system is resilient, coordinated, and ready to respond when it matters most.
The North Alabama Healthcare Coalition (NAHCC) is funded by the Alabama Department of Public Health, Center for Emergency Preparedness (ADPH-CEP), a recipient of the Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) Cooperative Agreement, administered by the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
